Orlando Commuter Rail Alternative To I-4 Is Explored

Local leaders test the first self-propelled commuter-rail train to meet federal safety regulations.
The test-ride event was organized by U.S. Rep. John Mica, R-Winter Park, and Lynx, the area's transit agency, to show off a new commuter-rail car manufactured in Colorado. It is the first self-propelled commuter-rail train to meet federal crash-safety regulations. Mica thinks that within 24 months a commuter-rail system could be up and running, but one of the biggest unknowns is how much money CSX would seek for use of its track.
