World's Mountain Regions Threatened

The world's mountains are submitting to threats from agriculture, building, war and climate change.
Mountains are the worlds reserviors - damage these and the world water supply is at threat. A report by the UN Environment Programme is the first map-based assessment of environmental change in mountain areas and of the implications for sustainable development. It graphically illustrates seven pressures or causes of environmental change: natural hazards, fire, climate change, infrastructure growth, violent conflict, changes in land cover, and agricultural intensification.
