To Be Competitive, Grow Smart

For Michigan to be competitive it should curb sprawl,implement Smart Growth strategies, and focus on quality-of-life issues.
In perhaps the most visible evidence yet that curbing sprawl and investing in cities is considered a mainstream idea in Michigan, the state Chamber of Commerce and its local partners held a two-day conference here last month that focused on the link between thriving metropolitan centers and a secure economy.
