Why Is Every Major Intersection Commercial?
28 September 2002 - 10:00am
An Arizona town council asks why every corner of every major intersection need to be zoned commercial.
"That's the question being asked by the Leave Residential Zoning Alone committee, a coalition of Carefree and Cave Creek area residents who hope to reverse by referendum a zoning change approved by the Carefree Town Council earlier this month. The object of the referendum is an acre on the northwestern corner of Tom Darlington Drive and Cave Creek Road. It was originally zoned R-3, or multiple-family residential, but was zoned to commercial garden office upon the request of the property's owner, Richard Melone."
