California's State Planning Bill

A bill that takes a small step toward better "state planning" in Californiaawaits a decision by Governor Gray Davis.
Land use planners, local government officials, housing advocates and developers are among the people watching to see if Gov. Gray Davis signs the bill that comes as close as California lawmakers have been willing to get to a "state planning" law... The bill by DemocraticAssemblywomanPatricia Wiggins urges better infrastructure planning by state agencies,andpromotes urban infill and farmland preservation.
