Downtown Revitalization and New Urbanism

Tulsa "the poster child of sprawl" struggles with urban redevelopment in and around its downtown.
"WTulsa still finds itself in need of an intelligent urban development and redevelopment plan...The sprawl has been good for the city. It has strengthened the tax base for outlying areas, which has led to some vast improvements in our quality of life...Many people are happy with the lifestyle created by the gated neighborhoods, but within the blur of suburban development activity another group of people, who prefer a much different lifestyle, have completely been overlooked."
