New Rules To Improve Water Quality In Wisconsin

New rules require developers and farmers to create buffers around rivers and streams, retain stormwater, detain sediments from construction sites, and reduce impervious surfaces in new developments.
"NPR's Kathleen Schalch reports that runoff from farm fields and city streets is dirtying the nation's water, despite 40 years of clean-up efforts. She visits Wisconsin, where strict new rules will limit pavement and increase drainage areas..Wisconsin will begin phasing in the most sweeping statewide curbs on runoff pollution in the nation."
