Gridlock In Toronto? Never.

A report by a Smart Growth Panel on gridlock in suburban Toronto leaves this columnist questioning the meaning of gridlock.

"In Toronto, police, politicians and reporters have conspired to stretch the meaning of the word so that it now describes any delay caused by cars getting stuck at an intersection with signals, temporarily blocking others travelling crosswise on a green light. Strictly speaking, I'd call it gridclog."
