Businesses, Governments Violated Clean Water Act

Fifty Florida businesses and governments violated the Clean Water Act according to a study of federal data released Tuesday by the Florida Public Interest Research Group.
Fifty major permit holders, including municipal wastewater treatment systems in Boca Raton and Hollywood, Pratt & Whitney's rocket engine development site in northwestern Palm Beach County, and Florida Power & Light's power plants, were found to have significantly broken rules during a fifteen month period ending March 2001.
