Business Owners Oppose Aesthetic Regulations

Winter Garden, Florida, faces vocal opposition of its plans to implement signage, landscape and architectural controls along the city's businest commercial corridor.
Planners call this busy section of Colonial Drive a victim of "visual pollution." Now Winter Garden wants to change the way the road looks, eliminate the eyesores and update parts of a city zoning ordinance that haven't been revised since 1958. Some Winter Garden merchants think the plan is just costly window dressing ordered by the government.
