Impact Fees Unknown To Iowa Developers

Unlike most states, Iowa doesn't charge impact fees to developers; leaving infrastructure expansion costs to the city and residents.
"The high court in May struck down a fee West Des Moines charged to residential developers that paid for development of neighborhood parks around the city. The Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines argued the fee was an illegal tax, and the court agreed."
