New Urbanism Arrives In Indianapolis

Feeling that suburban growth was too impersonal, residents of Indianapolis are embracing New Urbanist developments.
"The urban landscape of communities around Indianapolis is living proof of a common saying: Everything old is new again... Developers George Sweet and Tom Huston and their Brenwick Development Co. are creating one of the state's original new urbanist communities, with architecture reminiscent of the 19th and early 20th centuries... Indianapolis' classic neighborhoods offer similar amenities, such as walkable areas and nearby businesses, as well as more ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, Reed said."
