How To Limit San Diego's Sprawl

This editorial looks at myriad planning problems in San Diego, such as chronic traffic and endless sprawl.
According to theeditorial, the county needs "an accountable, regional entity with strong land-use authority to implement a smart-growth plan," in order to deal with future population growth and its implications. Unfortunately, the "super SANDAG" plan isn't going to cut it, the editorial finds. Instead, the editorial calls for an alternative: the unanimously approved proposal drafted by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, with its directly elected board members.
