New Urbanist Town Center For Southlake, TX
7 June 2002 - 11:00am
Debate continues over residential uses in a mixed-use suburban downtown.

" Opponents say town houses would break from Southlake's land-use plan, which calls for large homes on big lots to reduce traffic and prevent school crowding. They are also concerned about using prime commercial land for housing, which would produce less tax revenue, and about setting a precedent that other projects might follow."

“
New Suburbanism is not a new design paradigm that seeks to compete with or discredit principles of New Urbanism. Instead, our perspective represents a broad-based attempt to find the best, most practical ways to develop and redevelop suburban communities.
