The World Trade Center is not a memory, but an aspiration.
Next week, an empty flag-draped stretcher will be carried out of the World Trade Center site to mark the official end of the cleanup phase of the recovery. Reason Science Correspondent Ronald Bailey makes the case for replacing the buildings with a heroic structure.
