Denver's Blueprint For Growth

"The idea behind the plan, known as Blueprint Denver, is simple: to make sure that growth occurs in areas that can handle it, where there are adequate bus and rapid transit stations and roads, and where it won't destroy the character of existing neighborhoods. Formally adopted by the Denver City Council in March, the Blueprint lays out growth around transit hubs planned by the Regional Transportation District. Union Station, for instance, will become a huge transportation center, hosting light rail, commuter rail, bus rapid transit, a bike center, and, if growth occurs as projected, a subway. The Blueprint is the first major overhaul of Denver's land use plans in nearly 50 years. It will shape future decisions about what can be built where."
