A study by the University of Illinois at Chicago looks the impact of gentrification in Chicago's West Town Neighborhoods.
"Gentrification has become a dirty word. But without it, a city would die, buried under the weight of blighted neighborhoods...Despite a widespread belief that gentrification is a 'market' phenomenon that cannot be stopped, there are public policies that can help preserve the character of a community..."
