Development Options After Loss Of Downtown Jobs

As the owner of the flagship department store in Portland, OR, clears out its downtown offices, the ponders the possibilities.

Once the May Co. consolidates its West Coast offices in Los Angeles, cutting 520 Portland jobs in the process, the 15-story building that serves as the Meier & Frank department store's headquarters will sit mostly empty. Discussion has started to swirl among local planners, developers, architects and business owners as to what might become of the prime space.
