It's hard to keep up with the endless quest to present the world's knowledge in map form, but luckily we've got Max Fisher as a guide. He's collected 40 more fascinating maps that explain world history, present conditions and future scenarios.
How naive it was to think we could explain everything through 80 infographics. As Max Fisher's new collection illustrates, graphic designers are constantly adding to the trove of important, intriguing and odd information that's been mapped. "I've searched far and wide for maps that can reveal and surprise and inform in ways that the daily headlines might not, with a careful eye for sourcing and detail," writes Fisher, the Washington Post's foreign affairs blogger. "You might consider this, then, a collection of maps meant to inspire your inner map nerd."
In this collection you'll find a lot of information you wish you knew, thought you knew, and never realized you wanted to know. For instance, do you know how many continents are involved in making a jar of Nutella? Do you know where to find the world's major physical barriers? Do you know how many languages were spoken across North America prior to colonialism?
You will after reading this.
