Eugene Updates Land Use Code

Eugene, Oregon's newspaper finds that explaining the city's new land use code is beyond its capability.

The Eugene City Council has requested comments on the 400-page updapted land use code. Unfortunately, according to the Register-Guard, "even the people who've been working on the codes for the past five years - including those in opposition - are hard pressed to summarize what, exactly, it means to the individual Eugene resident... The cumulative effect of all the rules and restrictions could be a drag on the city's economy, opponents of the new code said."
