Three candidates vie for leadership of Metro, Portland's regional land-use planning body.
"One of the three candidates will become the first person to hold the government's new top leadership post, wielding authority over growth, transportation and conservation issues in Portland, 23 suburban cities and three counties. Residents across the region will vote for a Metro president in May... When Schiele joined the race last month, the rhetoric of the president's race shifted toward density. The 27-year-old advertising consultant has worked on Republican political campaigns in Nevada and Oregon and has participated in the property rights group Oregonians in Action."
