Two Faculty Positions in Landscape Architecture

The School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE) at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for two full-time tenured or tenure-track positions to contribute to the Master of Landscape Architecture Program. At least one of these positions will be appointed as a tenure-track assistant professor. An accredited degree in Landscape Architecture or related design field is required. At least one of the following is also required: a doctoral degree, a record of significant scholarly accomplishment, or a record of award-winning professional work that exemplifies design as research. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
We seek faculty colleagues who will meaningfully contribute to the ecological design focus of our Landscape Architecture Program, and to teaching, research and service in SNRE and the University. Candidates will have expertise in one of the following areas: 1) landscape history and design, deepening our capacity for humanities-based environmental scholarship. 2) ecological landscape planning and design, deepening our capacity for GIS-based ecological landscape planning and in communicating landscape change to both professional and lay audiences; or 3) landscape visualization and representation, including both digital and traditional media, to visualize ideas, projects, or results for greater professional and community understanding.
