Anger In The Alps

Residents rise up against truck traffic in the Alps.
"Traffic has far outstripped capacity, and the gap is growing. In September the European Commission estimated that even with the best efforts to reduce it, road freight traffic will still increase 38% by 2010. Except for wealthy Switzerland, European governments have been loath to commit the hundreds of billions of dollars necessary to assure an efficient flow of goods over the Alps."
