San Diego's Sewage Problems

The City of San Diego, CA is criticized for failing to address chronic sewage spills.
This opinion piece jointly written by Reznik, executive director of San Diego BayKeeper and Gonzalez, chairman of the San Diego Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, criticizes the city of San Diego for failing to address the chronic sewage spills that continue to degrade the region's beaches. Reznik and Gonzalez argue that city's neglect has resulted in San Diego having the most beach andbay advisories in the United States over the past three years. They say "problems are likely to get worse with more than 1,000 miles of sewage pipe already past its life expectancy."
