New York's Twin Towers were part of an economic development deal that left a broad legacy in metropolitan New York.
Everybody misses the Twin Towers. But this column by William Fulton tells the story of the Twin Towers as one of the great "economic development plays" of the 1960s -- one that left a broad legacy including the PATH trains to New Jersey, container ports in Elizabeth, and the urban development aspirations of the Rockefeller family.
