Fair Housing Gets a Boost With HUD App

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is looking to technology to help Americans learn more about fair housing practices and make it easier to file complaints about discrimination.

At the recent MobileGov Summit, HUD announced the official release of an app to promote fair housing law and practice, reports Hayley Tsukayama.

The app, Housing Discrimination Complaint Application, is already available for download from Apple's iTunes store and allows users access to information about fair and equal opportunity housing regulations and provides a platform from which they can file discrimination complaints on a state by state basis.

Traditionally people have had to call the HUD hotline or file paperwork to report a problem.
