Amtrak Interested In Louisville-Nashville Passenger Rail
23 January 2002 - 5:00am
Amtrak has told CSX that it would like to operate a passenger rail service between the two cities.
Louisville mayor and local leaders worked to bring Amtrak back to downtown's Union Station and are poised to secure rail service extended to Nashville. "The federally subsidized rail service says it wants to work with CSX to identify key issues that need to be addressed before service can begin. Once the key issues are addressed, Amtrak will begin discussions with the states and cities impacted by the project to seek their support in the initiative."
