Saving Pennsylvania

The Oxford Tribune gives a thumbs-up to "Saving Pennsylvania", an hour-long documentary on sprawl and the future of Pennsylvania.
"Saving Pennsylvania" also presents the viewer with a neat little history package on how sprawl has been supported by existing laws and government programs, such as current municipal zoning, the FHA and highway development. As an alternative, Hylton looks to successful communities such as Wyomissing, Pa., which is based on the "garden city" plan of Letchworth, England. Designed by Ebenezer Howard in 1898, the idea of "garden cities" left a green belt of open space around the central hub of the city, creating a self-contained town which was connected to larger cities by public transportation."
