America's Top Hipster Hoods

In what may prove to be the counter-argument for why it's the "best hipster neighborhood" in America, the Silver Lake section of Los Angeles has come out on top of Forbes' quasi-scientific rankings.

Apparently Forbes magazine has decided to become the arbiter of the coolest and hippest places in America. Forbes' analysis includes factors such as walkability, the number of neighborhood coffee shops per capita, the assortment of local food trucks, the number and frequency of farmers markets, and the percentage of residents who work in artistic occupations.

With "some of the nation's most lauded food trucks and farmer's markets, a booming arts scene and one of the largest creative class communities in the country," Silver Lake comes out on top. Of note: the Lower Westheimer neighborhood of America's coolest city - Houston - managed to sneak in at number 20.
