The Sacramento Bee's in-depth series, "Grappling With Growth", looks at how well suburban northern California is dealing with growth.
"Sprawl is a fact of life in suburban California, and Sacramento is no exception. Now, the true cost of that sprawl is beginning to make itself known. Traffic jams, sewer spills and water pollution are just some of the ways sprawl is affecting the region and our quality of life here. Nowhere are those effects more obvious than along the Highway 50 corridor, where boom time is starting to go bust."
