The Skyscraper Won't Die

Architects say that new skyscrapers may incorporate some design changes but the building form is an "American tradition" and will not die. A report from Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
"The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat...convened a meeting in Chicago about the future of the skyscraper. Architects, engineers and experts on building security and fire protection attended... [The] events of Sept. 11 have sparked a re-evaluation of safety measures designed and built into tall buildings.But those at the meeting shared a general belief that tall buildings would continue to rise in big cities."
