Amtrak's Surging Popularity

While many businesses suffered in the wake of the Sept. 11th attacks, Amtrak saw a 17 percent increase in ridership.
"One winner in the travel industry these days is Amtrak, which has seen record increases in the past month...Last year, Amtrak carried 22.5 million passengers. This year, due in part to recent jumps in ridership, the company is expecting to post its fifth year of growth."
