Amtrak's High-Speed Train Gains New Customers

The Acela Express, Amtrak's high-speed train service in the Northeast sees a 35% increase in ridership.
"With airline shuttle service in the Northeast still below Sept. 11 levels, Amtrak?s high-speed Acela Express train service is holding on to new customers, with a 35% increase in traffic from a year earlier...after the disruption of airline shuttle service in the Northeast following the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, Acela Express passenger growth jumped to 35%. Other parts of Amtrak?s national network are seeing more modest growth of 15% to 17% from year-earlier levels."
