Editorial argues that in the aftermath of last week's tragic events, the nation should review its energy policy and look at conservation and alternative energy sources.

"Nothing can justify the horrific attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., but we can learn some painful lessons from them. And one of those is the folly of continuing to depend on Middle East oil to run the engine of our society...Vice President Dick Cheney?s energy policy, which rejects conservation and short-shrifts sustainable, home-grown sources like solar, wind and fuel cells, is misguided."
