LA's Pilot Express Lanes Coming Soon

California Report previews 25 miles of new express or high occupancy toll lanes coming to LA as a pilot project paid from the competitive value pricing grant program under President Bush. The lanes currently are reserved for high occupancy vehicles

The reporter, stuck in LA traffic, looks forward to joining carpoolers in the HOV lanes. Mayor Villaraigosa explains how both those on the left and right came to agree to proceed with this project. Considering their was bi-partisan opposition to the project, that was no easy feat.
