Historic Preservation: The Reality Show

A new series from the BBC tracks six homeowners trying to convert historic (or just plain old) buildings into modern homes.

Olly Grant of The Telegraph explains that the goal of the series isn't house-flipping:

"Where the series gives the formula a little twist, however, is in poking into the history of each house as the build progresses. And this provides more drama than you'd expect."

The host and the subjects all seem to agree that the quality of contemporary British housing is poor, and historic structures have more to offer.
