Denver's Sprawl Of Shame

A Colorado environmental group publishes a list with the worst sprawling developments the group says represent poor public policy.
"The Colorado Public Interest Research Group, or CoPIRG, targeted 10 "sprawling" developments the group says represent poor public policy because they conflict with a community's wishes, require costly extension of public services such as roads, or unnecessarily destroy farmland and open space. Topping the list was Aurora's plans for northeastward expansion, which CoPIRG said calls for extending development as far as 20 miles, creating an area roughly the size of Lakewood on the plains beyond E-470."
