Businesses Join Forces To Clean Up Commercial District

Northeast Minneapolis neighborhood business area reinvents itself as local businesses join forces.

Once populated by empty storefronts, the fear of crime, and unkempt facades, the Central Avenue commercial district has quickly turned itself around. With a block party, a new logo, and lamppost banners, the local business celebrate how "the feel is completely different." Several funding opportunities and progressive programs helped rejuvenate facades, parking, and even alleys.
