City Attempts to Find "The Right Price for Parking"

This week the city of San Francisco will launch its SFpark Program in an attempt to appropriately price street parking and reduce traffic due to people cruising for available parking spaces.

"In some city neighborhoods, cruising makes up as much as 40 percent of all traffic. All this unnecessary traffic slows down buses, endangers cyclists and pedestrians, delays other motorists, and produces harmful emissions. The key to eliminating it is to get the price of parking right."
UCLA Professor Donald Shoup makes an appearance in this video and answers the question, "What is the right price for curbside parking?"
