Memorial's Advanced Lighting System Saves Electricity

A new lighting system for the Jefferson Memorial will reduce electricity requirements by 80 percent.
"One of the city's most spectacular monuments, the Jefferson Memorial, is getting an advanced lighting system that Jefferson himself -- architect and inventor as well as statesman -- would have appreciated.It will also save 80 percent of the energy now expended on the lighting -- as much as $25,000 or $30,000 worth a year, the National Park Service estimated."
