A new resort and a master-planned community built around seven golf courses are planned on tribal lands east of Las Vegas.
Tribal leaders of the Southern Paiutes are counting on desert landscape, world-class golf, and environmentally compatible architectureinstead of the Las Vegas staple of gamblingto attract wealthy visitors to their $170 million Las Vegas Paiute Resort, scheduled to begin construction this fall on a reservation located 25 miles northwest of the city of Las Vegas.
