Redevelopment Gone Bad
7 August 2001 - 12:00pm
A St. Louis suburb mayor sues the city council claiming libel and slandor. The issue? A redevelopment project gone bad.
"The suit is the latest chapter in a bitter dispute over the redevelopment of a tract of land. The city's leaders are split over the choice of a company to handle the project... The suit alleges that these defendants defamed the character and reputation of Deinbo and McClendon with false accusations of bribery and corruption. The suit seeks $1.6 million in damages."
