Preserving The Presidio

A plan drafted with input from environmentalists and neighbors, aims to preserve wilderness and history in San Francisco's Presidio while allowing new development including hotels for bringing in tourists.
"The plan, unveiled Wednesday by the Presidio Trust, was a compromise drafted after environmentalists and neighbors demanded limits on development. The trust, charged with converting the base into a national park that can pay for itself, hopes to generate revenues from rents on homes and businesses."
