Redeveloped Areas Get Electric Cars in OC
25 July 2001 - 2:30pm
Anaheim, CA is giving free use of electric cars to low-income residents as part of an antipollution project.
There are 10 electric vehicles that have been placed in two redeveloped areas in Anaheim as a part of a state pilot program to get gas-free vehicles into neighborhoods. Families are enjoying the use of the vehicles to take children to school and to run errands. The cars are legal on city streets with speed limits of 35 mph or less. A standard 110-volt household outlet can recharge them.
