Military Base To Tourist Attraction

San Francisco's old Presidio military base will be converted to a tourist attraction and campus.
San Francisco's Presidio Trust announces plans "to turn the forested, centuries-old Army base into a unique hybrid: part tourist attraction, part campus, part neighborhood, part park. The proposal represents a compromise with environmentalists and neighbors, who have fought to limit new development in the sprawling, fog-shrouded area." Critics contend that the new development is just sprawl.
