Wider Sidewalks For World-Famous Public Space

Wider sidewalks in New York's Times Square are welcome but more needs to be done.
"These new sidewalks are no substitute for the grand urban space that deserves to be there ? Broadway Plaza, as it was called by the planners who came up with it in the 1970's, although we may want to rethink some of the details of that scheme.This could be New York's answer to the beloved cathedral squares and promenades of Europe."
