Cleaning Cheasapeake Bay
25 July 2001 - 12:00pm
Some progress has been made in cleaning up the Cheasapeake Bay which has been threatened by pollution and land development.
"'We are probably 10 to 15 years ahead of any other large-scale ecosystem restoration dealing with water pollution,' Mr. Fox said. "What we do over the course of the next 5 to 10 years will likely become the model for the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico,' and for other major areas with the same large 'dead zones' of pollution that mar the Chesapeake."
