Dollar Stores and Groceries Bouncing Back

A new study shows a significant increase in planned new retail stores over the past three months, and discounters and grocery stores are leading the way.

The study is by Colliers International.

David Bodamer writes, "The brokerage firm compiled data on the most active retailers in 41 metropolitan areas and found that discount retailers (21 percent) and supermarkets (18 percent) were the most active in looking for new sites."

It seems that America is in a mood for a bargain: retail growth is primarily in lower-price retailers and restaurants.
