Reston Town Center: A Living Urban Core

9 July 2001 - 2:00pm

What makes the Reston Town Center successful? How does this urban core attract families and residents of all ages and how does it balance commercial and residential development?

"It's home to families, singles and retirees drawn by a chance to live near Northern Virginia's suburban high-tech core and within walking distance of a slice of big-city street life...In addition to the commercial development, the Town Center contains 340 new or under-construction housing units in the urban core. Seven-hundred apartments are planned there. In total, 2,791 housing units exist or have been approved for the district."
