Brightening Up The Landscape

A paint company is sponsoring a project to brighten up dull communities by painting them with bright colors.

Fernanda Romano, who works for Let's Colour (the name of the project told GOOD Magazine:

"let's find locations, places around the world, they're a bit dull, a bit grey. Let's engage the local community." She adds, encouraging community involvement was crucial to succeed: "Mandating things to people feels a bit old fashioned. People want to collaborate, people create content to share with the world."

Minimalists wet dream

I'm sure minimalists are excited about this idea. How about taking the idea a bit further. Instead of painting nondescript walls a single bright color, how about communities have competitions to allow local artists to put up their artwork on walls. This would create a better sense of an artistic community, would promote local artists, and make the city much more interesting than if it only had bright walls.
